Latinski naziv i familija: Agrimonia eupatoria L. (Rosaceae)

Opis: Stabljika je uspravna, nerazgranata, mestimično dlakava. Prizemni listovi su u rozeti, a ostali naizmenični, perasti, sa 2-6 pari elipsastih ili rombičnih grubo nazubljenih listića. Cvetovi su u gustim klasastim cvastima sa pet kruničnih listića žute boje. Raste u srednjoj i južnoj Evropi, Mediteranu, Maloj Aziji i Kavkazu na sušnim livadama, pored puteva i na kamenjarima.
Kao lekoviti deo biljke koristi se: Osušen nadzemni deo biljke (Agrimoniae herba)
Hemijski sastav: Herba petrovca sadrži polisaharide, triterpene, flavonoide, tanine, vitamine C i K, nikotin amid i tiamin
U narodnoj medicini se koristi: Kod dečjih proliva i kolitisa, u urološkim čajevima, preparatima za pojačano lučenje žuči i spolja za obloge za brže zarastanje rana
Ograničenja u upotrebi: Ne preporučuje se tokom trudnoće i dojenja.
Način pripreme i upotrebe čaja: Jednu supenu kašiku herbe petrovca preliti šoljom (200ml) hladne vode i zagrejati da proključa. Sud poklopiti, ostaviti da stoji 5 min. Čaj procediti i piti 2-3 puta na dan po šolju nezaslađenog čaja.
